Edinburgh Settlers 1815

General List of Settlers enrolled for Canada under the Government Regulations at Edinburgh 1815
These lists of passengers are a compilation of two lists. The first, the Colonial Office "Master" List, comprising 757 names (699 of whom sailed) with full details of those intending to emigrate to Canada, and the corresponding Canadian arrival lists showing head of household, and numbers and age-range of accompanying family for the Atlas, Dorothy & Baltic Merchant. The Eliza arrival list did not survive. By separating those on the Colonial Office list who were shown as "not to sail," or had died, from those for which no corresponding arrival is shown on the first three ships; then, with the knowledge that 123 persons are known to have embarked on Eliza, a 'virtual' list of Eliza passengers has been transcribed. Included below is also the list of those shown as "not to sail" on any of these ships in 1815, and the Memorandum notes compiled by John Campbell, Agent for the Government.
