Destitute Immigrants per steamer Juno September 5th 1844
This is a list of head-of-household of immigrant families
assisted to proceed to Bytown (Ottawa), by the Government Emigration
Officer.
The numbers of, and age-range of accompanying family members is noted
beside each name, with the intended final destination. They may have
received additional assistance, after arrival at Ottawa.
The Juno was
not the sailing vessel on which they had arrived, but one of
the river steamers which carried the immigrants inwards from the arrival
port. . (Note: "-
do -" is
used for ditto and appears that way in the original.)
List of destitute Immigrants forwarded
to Bytown at the Expence [sic] of Government
